Little Bee Speech apps use the Apple Mail app to send emailed reports from the email that you have set up in the Mail app.

You don’t see the Mail app open when you send reports from our apps becasue it happens in the background. When iOS 11 was released, Apple introduced a feature called “Offload unused Apps”.

The gist of it is when storage is running low, the Offload feature removes little-used apps, but keeps their documents and data on your device. The deleted apps appear as grayed-out icons on the home screen, and can be reinstalled with a tap.

When activated (on your iPad go to Settings > General > iPad Storage) or (Settings > App Store > Offload Unused Apps) the feature works automatically in the background, but users can also choose to offload individual apps of their choosing.

When the Mail app gets “offloaded” because of infrequent use this will turn the send button gray when you try to send an email from one of our apps, restricting you from sending the emailed report. To fix this you will need to do one or both of the following:

  1. Find the Mail app on your device and open it.
  2. Re-download the Mail app from the App Store and then set it up again with your email and password

To turn this feature off so that you don’t have the gray send button happen again open the Settings app on your device

Settings > App Store > turn off “Offload Unused Apps”
