We’ve been asked many times by speech-language pathologists if they can use our software for teletherapy and the answer is yes!
While our software does not work natively on a desktop or laptop computer currently (they only work on mobile devices like an iPhone or iPad), you can still use them in teletherapy.
The best way to use our software in a teletherapy setting is to mirror your iPad screen to your computer and then share your computer screen with your student using the teletherapy software.
It’s important to note that when mirroring your iPad screen to your computer your student will not be able to interact directly with your iPad as they would if you were sitting with them in person. This will require a little creativity on your part when using the software together with your student but as you find your rhythm you’ll see just how fun and effective it can be.
Most teletherapy (or video conferencing) platforms have the option to share your computer screen but many don’t offer a way to mirror your iPad screen to your computer. So, here are a few options for screen mirroring your iPad to your computer so that you can use our apps in teletherapy:
1. Zoom
If you are using the popular video conferencing platform Zoom, you will have the option of sharing your computer screen but additionally you have the option of also mirroring your iPad to your computer. This is a great all-in-one option. See the following links for details on how to do this using Zoom.

4. Quicktime
Quicktime Player is a free Mac application (also available for Windows) used for video editing and playback but it will also allow you to share your iPad screen with your computer. This option requires your iPad to be connected to your computer with a charging cable. See the links below for details on using Quicktime to mirror your iPad screen to your computer.

5. Document Camera
It’s worth mentioning that you can also use a document camera to share your iPad screen to your computer. While this isn’t the most “techy” way of using mobile apps in teletherapy we’ve spoken with SLPs that have had great success using this method. Any modern document camera will have the ability to connect with your computer. A quick search online and you should find some reasonably priced document camera options.
